 Have you ever struggled to use products or open packaging? If so, you are not alone. As the population ages the demand for user-friendly products is increasingly recognised. Arthritis New Zealand will be promoting to companies that they re-think their design and usability of their products. Companies Ease of Use accreditation operates in a similar way to the Heart Tick programme and will provide a guide for consumers whether a product has reached the standards set. Products need to be submitted to Arthritis New Zealand and will be put through a evaluation process by consumers in NZ and then sent to Georgia Tech Research Institute in the USA for rigorous three step test programme. (NB if companies wish to have a joint Australasian certification products will also need to be sent to Arthritis Australia) Consumers Consumers will be able to look for those products that have the EOU logo visible and know that these will make your life easier.
