Tama Easton did, Tama who has arthritis is taking part in Summer Solstice All Day Bike Ride 2010 and is raising money on behalf of Arthritis New Zealand, support Tama by donating to his online fundraising page.
Following is written by Tama:
In late 2010 I was struck by reactive arthritis in my feet. At the worst I needed a walking stick to get around and movement was very slow and painful. I was a keen mountain biker who rode most days and it had never crossed my mind that I could get arthritis in my mid 30's. With the support of my family, friends, doctors, acupuncturist and Arthritis New Zealand I have recovered to the point that I can live a normal life and ride bikes again. The arthritis is still there, but at a level that's manageable. On the longest day of 2007 before I'd even heard of reactive arthritis, I rode my mountain bike from sunrise to sunset with a friend. This year I'm inviting cyclists all over New Zealand to join me and ride all day, wherever they are. Arthritis New Zealand does excellent work helping normal New Zealanders get on with their lives, please support them.
